Sisi: The Mind of a Woman

Final Major Project at Nottingham Trent University.

Mid-19th Century biopic of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. At only 16 years of age, she was thrust into the world of strict court life in Vienna. Her carefree childhood in Bavaria, made of horse-riding and skipping lessons with her eccentric father, came to an end when she was crowned Empress. Sisi became deeply depressed, suffering with mental illness that was only exacerbated by her new mother-in-law’s cruel treatment, removing her children against her will. Sisi’s heritage prevails today as one of the most legendary icons of beauty.
